I have a deep hatred for comment threads on major-media websites. I suspect that the vast majority of people posting are astroturfers to some degree or another. However, this excerpt raised so many of my hackles -- for one, it's not even illustrating what the title purports the book is about, leading me to suspect she's not really sure what 'gaming the system' means -- I kept reading solely to better enjoy the unvarnished hatred in the comments.
Only some of which are less lazy than the writing (seriously, using the system does not equal gaming it!) that provoked them. And these folks didn't get an advance.
